Reading
Every Summer After – Although the official end of summer is in a few weeks, don’t let that stop you from getting lost in this beachy, summer read. The story unfolds over six summers as the main characters, Percy and Sam, develop a friendship that turns into a romance over the years. Fast forward to a decade after they’ve grown up and parted ways, when she gets a call that sends her rushing back to the small sleepy lake town she left behind. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, and I devoured it in one weekend. 5/5 for anyone who wants that easy, light page-turner.
Eating
You know when you find a new recipe and then you end up making it at least once a week? That’s what happened with this Southwest Chicken Casserole . I found it on Pinterest and it’s been the perfect meal prep meal that is filling, healthy, and tasty! The entire serving lasts me a couple of days and it reheats perfectly on the stove. Try this out next time you want an easy, one-pan meal.
If you live in San Diego (or are visiting!), add Little Frenchie to your list! I’ve been loving sitting on their patio and ordering the charcuterie; you choose three kinds of cheese (pro tip: order the truffle cheese), and it comes with bread, fresh honey, nuts, fresh berry compote, and fruit. Their champagne happy hour is every day from 3 – 6 pm with amazing prices on wines, champagnes, and small bites.

Happy birthday to my new nephew, Harley! <3 I can’t believe he is 1 month old already! He was born on August 8th and is the sweetest addition to the family. I cannot wait to meet him in a few weeks!

You know I’m a fan of all Necessaire products since they are clean and non-toxic. I am on my second order of their Rosemary Hair Duo. They launched this product a few months ago and I love the fresh, subtle rosemary scent in the shampoo/conditioner.

As someone who is on my feet all day, I prioritize having shoes that are supportive and comfortable. I just bought my second pair of On Cloud 5 Running Shoes after wearing a hole into my first pair. I love the neutral color (I have the pearl/white) and especially love that you don’t have to worry about your laces coming untied since they are slip-on.
Podcasts
"I Feel Behind Financially" Your Toughest Money Qs Answered with Your Rich BFF, Vivian Tu – This conversation felt like you were having happy hour with two friends – I love hearing Vivian’s take on how to save, invest, and avoid lifestyle creep.
Jemma Sbeg...Battling Comparison, Treating Life as Seasons, Imposter Syndrome & More – My biggest takeaway from this episode was the analogy of a fig tree. Each fig represents different seasons of your life – one might be an author, one might be a Mom, one might be an entrepreneur. The idea is you can do all of those things, just not all at once. If you wait around too long to decide which path to take, the figs will shrivel and die, but if you decide on one fig for a season, you can move on to the next after that chapter is over. As someone who has so many ideas and wants to do all the things, this was a really refreshing perspective.
Thanks for recapping August with me! Happy September and official start of pumpkin spice szn!
