January favs

What I’m reading, listening to, and loving this month!

Welcome to my monthly favs list!  Below are my favorite products, podcasts, and resources that I’m loving this month.  Let me know what you think and as always, I love to hear your recommendations!  <3

Read

Be Your Future Self Now – I’m about halfway through this book and love the principles Dr. Benjamin Hardy provides to explain how your imagined Future-Self is the driver of your current reality.  If you are looking for some motivation in 2024, this is a great book to reframe your mindset!

After I Do – An easy read about a young married couple who decided to embark on a year-long trial separation.  The growth the characters go through navigating life separately and the unexpected silver lining that comes from being apart make this a heartwarming, feel-good read.

99 Inexpensive Self Care Ideas for the New Year – Leaning into the new year theme, I thought this was a well thought out list of ideas to add some self-care in the new year!

Listen

Jesse Itzler on How To Achieve Personal Goals Constantly, Stay Motivated, & Plan Your Entire Year Effectively – Lots of takeaways for anyone looking to stay inspired with their goals!

How to Make Better, Faster, & Stronger Decisions w/ Brendon Burchard – I struggle with making decisions and this was a helpful listen on how to exercise your decision making muscle!

Necessaire Shampoo + Conditioner – If you are looking for clean, nontoxic haircare, one of my go-to brands is Necessaire.  The shampoo doesn’t leave build up in your hair and because there aren’t any chemicals, fragrances, or dyes, I don’t get breakouts or reactions on my chest or back like I do from some other shampoos and conditioners.

Alo High-Waist Flare Legging – I received these flare yoga pants for Christmas (ty, Erica!) and have been living in them!  They are perfect to wear to your workout class or throw them on with a cute jacket or sweater for an elevated athleisure look.

Brodino Broth Soups – It’s been soup weather in San Diego, and we always have our freezer stocked with Brodino Broth’s soups for a quick, healthy lunch.  You can find Brodino Broth at farmers markets throughout Southern California here, or they ship straight to your door!  My favorite soups right now are the Golden Curry (pro tip: serve this over rice), and the Chicken Wild Rice.

Local Love

Congratulations to Kylie Transki on the grand opening of Move Madly - a Lagree studio in Encinitas, CA! The grand opening celebration was in mid-January and it’s been so amazing to watch the community grow there over the last month! Catch me coaching there Thursday and Friday mornings! ;)

I’ve been loving the combination of strength training + cold plunging at Bark Athletics in Point Loma! If you are looking for a personal trainer or group bootcamp style classes to mix up your workout this year, Jon is awesome! Bobby and I see him at least once a week to incorporate strength training and when we are brave, end our sessions with a couple minutes in the cold plunge.

I also posted a fun recap of things I’m loving lately on my Instagram a few days ago. Be sure to follow for health and Lagree tips, and photos of Jim. :)
