My honest review of the trendiest wellness products

What is worth the hype, and where to save your money.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for anything that promises to improve my sleep, give me glowy skin, or optimize my health.  My Instagram algorithm really knows how to put a wellness product in my feed that will get me to click ‘add to cart’.  After trying out some of the buzziest wellness products on the market, here are my honest reviews on what products are worth the splurge, and where to save your money.

Oura ring | ️5 stars

If I could only choose 1 product to have in my wellness toolbox, it would hands down be my Oura ring.  I love that it tracks my sleep, activity, and even my period, without having a clunky device on my wrist.  I’ve become much more in tune with my body and can see firsthand how having coffee late in the day, a late dinner, or a few cocktails impacts my sleep and readiness scores.  I pair my Oura ring with the Natural Cycles app, which automatically tracks my temperature each morning making period tracking a breeze.  If I’m getting sick or my body isn’t fully recovered, my ring will tell me to take it easy or go on ‘rest mode’ for the day.  Highly recommend this purchase if you enjoy getting a deeper insight into your activity, sleep, and heart rate.

Higher Dose infrared sauna blanket | ️5 stars

My life goal is to have an infrared sauna cabin in my home one day (a girl can dream!), in the meantime, the Higher Dose infrared sauna blanket works amazing and folds up so you can easily store it when not using it. The benefits of infrared saunas are helping muscles recover, improved circulation, and deep relaxation.  I used to go to infrared sauna sessions in person, but I find it much more enjoyable to be able to do this in the comfort of my home and will usually put a meditation, podcast, or watch TV when I lie in mine.  I received this as a gift, and they usually go on sale once or twice a year.  When I use this consistently, I do notice a difference in my sleep quality, energy levels, and have less bloating and water retention.

Dr Dennis Gross LED mask | 3.5 stars

I love the idea of this product, since red light therapy is so effective for increasing collagen and improving fine lines and wrinkles, but I have never been able to securely connect the face strap, so I am only able to use it when I’m laying down.  Not a huge deal, but for something with this steep of a price tag, I would like the strap to be a little more user friendly.  A lot of companies are starting to roll out LED face masks, so you can find cheaper options on Amazon or Higher Dose if you are looking to incorporate red light therapy into your wellness routine.  But IMO, save your money and go with a dupe.

Molecule Air | ️5 stars

When I started digging deeper into my own health journey and learning about all the toxins, dust, and even skin particles in the air we breathe, I knew I needed to invest in an air purifier. I discovered the Molekule Air Mini +, which I keep in my bedroom to help break down allergens, pollutants, viruses, bacteria, and even mold.  I love that the design is sleek, so it won’t mess up your home aesthetic, and the noise sounds like a light white noise which I don’t mind when I sleep.  The filters are so easy to change too; tbh I finally just started subscribing to their membership, so I don’t forget to change my filter (peep the difference of a new filter vs. a dirty filter).

They recommend you change filters about every 6 months, but I could honestly probably change mine more frequently living with a golden retriever.  The price is steep, but relative to other quality air purifiers on the market, you get what you pay for.  I have had mine for a few years now without any issues.

Canopy humidifier | 2 stars

This one pains me to write.  I REALLY wanted to love this product and for a while, I swore by this humidifier.  I love the design and the idea that you can put the parts in the dishwasher for an easy clean made this one so appealing.  Having an autoimmune disease that causes me to have dry eyes, humidifiers are a godsend to have near my bed.  My 2-star rating is because the filter gets soggy after a few days, and even though they advertise themselves as being “mold-free,” we’ve had to take apart our humidifier to remove mold that built up.  Their customer service is great, and they’ve sent us a new humidifier when our engine stopped working, but I’m on the hunt for a new humidifier.  If anyone has any recs, send them my way!

Skinny Confidential hot mess ice roller | ️5 stars

I’m on my second ice roller (I left my first one in a hotel by accident lol), and in my opinion, there is no better-quality face roller on the market.  I used to use one of those quartz jade rollers but after trying the Skinny Confidential hot mess ice roller, nothing else compares to help with puffiness and inflammation in the face.  I keep mine in the freezer and love using this first thing in the morning when I’m doing my morning skincare.  My eyelids tend to be puffy in the morning and this feels so relaxing to use all over my face, neck, and even eyelids.

Stanley 40 oz water bottle | ️5 stars

I resisted this purchase for a while; I will admit I thought it was an over-hyped water bottle.  However, after going through 2 or three cheaper water bottles, I bit the bullet and have been converted.  Like a lot of the expensive products on this list, you get what you pay for.  I find that the cheaper water bottles weren’t as easy to clean, would roll around in my car because they didn’t fit in the cup holder, and after dropping on the floor would dent.  If you aren’t a Stanley girly yet, I highly recommend…. until the next trendy water bottle goes viral.

The water bottle you won't regret

Do you need any of these products to live your healthiest life?  Absolutely not!  There is so much noise in the wellness space and if you are anything like me, it can be tempting to constantly fill your online shopping cart with the latest products that promise to deliver.  I look at these products as ways to enhance my health and wellness hygiene; there is never a quick fix when it comes to proper sleep and nutrition.  For the pricier items that I know I want, I like to make a note in my phone throughout the year and add them to my wish list when Christmas or my birthday rolls around.  I’ll admit, I’d much rather have a wellness gadget than a designer pair of shoes any day, so I choose to spend my money on anything that can enhance my health.

What wellness product do you swear by?!
