December Favs

What I’m reading, listening to, and loving this month!

What I’m listening to

 What I’m reading

  • 100 Ways to Change Your Life – I have been a fan of Liz Moody’s podcast for years – she’s an author, podcast host, and former journalist and always asks her guests thoughtful and insightful questions.  Her book compiles 100 easy tips to improving your life based on research from the scientists, doctors, and experts she’s interviewed.  I also mentioned this in my gift guide – it would make a great coffee table book!

Local favs

  • Move Madly! - Congratulations to Kylie Transki on the grand opening of her new Lagree studio in Encinitas!  The studio is such a vibe and she’s created such a fun, positive environment.  Also, don’t miss out on the grand opening special: for the month of December your first class is free!  Check out Move Madly if you are in North County and look for me on the schedule. ;)

  • Shop/Good – My favorite local business for all things clean beauty.  I recently attended Shop/Good’s gua sha masterclass and I’m so happy I finally know how to use a gua sha tool!  Two of their holistic estheticians sat down for a session on the benefits and proper techniques.  They have a replay on their Instagram if you are curious about brushing up on your gua sha skills too.

  • Hotel Del – One of my favorite holiday activities in San Diego is going to the Hotel Del Coronado at night to look at the lights and have a drink at the outside bar by the ice skating rink (Serea).  If you are local or plan on visiting San Diego in December, be sure to add this to your list; it’s a holiday must!

  • Designing Dreams Hope for the Holidays gala - congratulations to Designing Dreams for their 2nd annual Hope for the Holidays gala!  I’ve been a part of the organization on their event planning committee since 2022, and it has been incredible to see the organization and event grow.  Thank you to all the sponsors, silent auction donations, and attendees – together we raised over $90,000 to help remodel bedrooms of children undergoing childhood cancer throughout San Diego!  If you are looking for a cause to give back to this season, this is an amazing nonprofit organization making such an impact.

I hope everyone enjoys the holidays with your loved ones.  I’ll be back in the new year with some exciting new features, guest interviews, and recs!  <3
