May R.E.C.A.P.
The books, podcasts, and items that have added value this month.
Reading
Seeking Wisdom by Julia Cameron. This is an updated version of her book The Artist's Way (thanks for the rec, Megan!) and I love that she talks about prayer, spirituality, and incorporating it into your daily routine though walking, journaling, and tapping into your creativity. I saw this at the bookstore by our house and when I was checking out the cashier saw the title of the book and said, “Seeking wisdom? We could all use some of that!” And so far, I agree! One of the concepts from the book that I’ve been loving getting back into again are the Morning Pages – a brain dump first thing in the morning to get all the thoughts out of your head.
Eating
One skillet salmon with lemon orzo – I’ve been adding this recipe to my weeknight dinner rotation. It’s ready in 30 minutes AND the best part is you only need to use one pan to cook it. Make an extra serving for leftovers the next day!
ICYMI here are the healthy snacks and food items I’m excited about at Costco right now.
Community
We are officially one week out from the Designing Dreams Hope for Health fitness fundraiser in Coronado, CA. If you are local to San Diego there are still tickets remaining! The event will include yoga led by Amy Baack, a HIIT workout led by Remy Kam, and sound healing with Sound and Movement Collective. There will also be tons of amazing local vendors in the health and wellness space including my acupuncturist, Dr. Ashley and my favorite farmer’s market vendor Dirt Food. We are still seeking sponsors and donations for our bedroom recipients; you can make a donation here or email me for more information on sponsorship opportunities! <3 Thank you to everyone who is making this possible!
My parents visited us in San Diego over Memorial Day weekend, and we took them on a sailboat excursion through San Diego Bay. For anyone looking for a fun summer activity, be sure to check out Sail San Diego and ask for captain Frank!
Adding to Cart
I always like to be prepared when I coach group Lagree classes. Check out what I keep in my gym bag on the blog if you are an instructor and want to be on your “A” game.
Our house is slowly coming together and I was pleasantly surprised when I found this boucle chair on sale at Home Depot. Who knew they had furniture?! We’ve had it for a few weeks and the fabric is high quality and the chair has the perfect amount of support.
